Our Mission:
To encourage the concept of "self-help" by offering education, recreational, social and employment programs that address the needs of the community on the near Westside of Indianapolis.

To offer decentralized services by providing space within the center to other social services organizations and community groups.

Flanner House is a United Way agency.

Child Development Center:

The Child Development Center at Flanner House has existed since 1920, making it one of the oldest programs of its kind in the state.  It serves 140 children ages 3 to 12 whose parents must be working or enrolled in school.  Fees are calculated on a sliding scale.

 

 

 

   

 

 

In-Home Service:

Serves the elderly, frail and disabled with light housekeeping and life-essential errands, so they may remain in their homes as opposed to institutionalized care.

Senior Center:

  • Hot lunch four times a week

  • Ceramics
  • Computer Classes
  • Shopping trips
  • Seminars on a variety of topics
  • Safe place to remain active and enjoy the fellowship of others
  • Special celebrations, shows, presentations and feasts.  This includes Black History Month, Women's History etc.

Access to Services Programs:

Flanner House offers a variety of outreach programs to assist members of the community in developing and maintaining a strong foundation for life long self-sufficiency and independence.  Some of the programs include (but aren’t limited too):
