Our Mission:
Flanner House of Indianapolis supports the community on the near Northwest side of Indianapolis by providing early childhood education, senior services, employment skills and social services that will empower families and individuals to move from instability to self sufficiency.

Flanner House is a United Way agency.

Child Development Center:

The Child Development Center at Flanner House has existed since 1920, making it one of the oldest programs of its kind in the state.  It serves 140 children ages 3 to 12 whose parents are working or enrolled in school.

  • Nutritious meals
  • Sliding scale fee schedule

We teach the "whole child".  Our desire is that our children become "masters of the universe"!

In-Home Service:

Serves the elderly and disabled with light housekeeping and life-essential errands, so they may remain in their homes as opposed to institutionalized care.

Senior Center:

  • Monday - Friday 10 am - 2 pm

  • Hot lunch four times a week
  • Computer Classes
  • Shopping and pharmacy trips
  • Seminars on wellness topics
  • Water aerobics, exercise classes and bowling
  • Safe place to remain active and enjoy the fellowship of others
  • Special celebrations, shows, presentations and feasts.  This includes Black History Month, Women's History etc.

Center for Working Families:

Flanner House offers a variety of outreach programs to assist members of the community in developing and maintaining a strong foundation for life long self-sufficiency and independence.  Some of the programs include (but aren’t limited too):
